leather is flesh
stand up vegan admit
not merely your diet
fashion cannot justify this
I was one of countless vegan punx still head to boot in leather
substitutes just weren't the same, had rocked this look forever
but I knew it's like destroying a fur coat with paint in protest
while ignoring other animal pelts that are your jacket, belts, boots, bracelets...
you say it's practical, utility, necessary
maybe for someone but for what that you do?
same idea with eating meat in desperate parts of this world
but be honest where you live really how desperate are you?
you say it's otherwise wasted, it's already been prepared
that you wouldn't buy it new, just almost new for half the price
same can be for meat, do you eat it when it's there?
to any manufactured horrors of this world that same passive acceptance can easily be applied
Vegans
if we don't abstain from unneeded animal exploitation who do you suppose will?
we embrace dietary alternatives
regardless of cost or extra efforts every day
but this path isn't foremost about fake meat from a grocery store
it's about combatting death culture
and unless your honest survival requires an animal's material
like leather made from its once living flesh
it is not necessary
own up, engage alternatives
embody the changes you truly want in this world
we cannot settle for being nothing but a tattered collage of its grotesque failures
